In the field of psychology, if we are not able to laugh at ourselves we are in trouble! I'm a strong believer that mental health professionals need to recognize that we tred on sacred ground each days as we walk with people through extremely personal and painful events. However, we must also not every take ourselves too seriously. So, I thought it would be good to add a section on movies and humor to the web site. Below are some recommendations that may be quite therapeutic when you are begin to take yourself too seriously.
Gun Shy This was first recommended to me by a client and I fell in love with it the first time I watched it. Liam Neeson, Oliver Platt, and Sandra Bullock make an outstanding cast. This movies addresses group therapy issues from a humorous perspectives. Though not a well known movie, it's definitely worth seeing! Added February 2006 |
