Case Conceptualization

Assignment Overview

Beginning in week 5, we will begin doing many case conceptualizations in class. We will do these in small groups and as a class. Your grade for this portion of the class will be based upon your participation in these in-class discussions and activities. In particular, I will be looking to see that you demonstrate:

1. A basic understanding of the case conceptualization process.
2. The ability to conceptualize cases from a number of different theoretical perspectives.
3. The ability to think critically about the case conceptualization process.
4. The ability to apply theoretical knowledge to the practice of psychotherapy.
5. The ability to apply case conceptualization knowledge into therapy practice.

I may also ask for you to write up a brief summary of your contributions to case conceptualizations in class.
